Do you need an S-chain?
An s-chain is required to provide supply chain transparency related to reseller SSP accounts.
Whether you need an s-chain depends on your company’s relationship with each SSP that you use.
- Direct Relationship with SSP (Owned & Operated)
If your company has a direct relationship with an SSP, you do not need a s-chain. A direct relationship generally means that the SSP pays you directly.
- HTL as Reseller
If SSP demand is provided by HTL, then the HTL S-chain is required.
- Other Vendor as Reseller
If SSP demand is provided by another vendor, then the vendor’s S-chain is required.
Mixed S-chain and non-S-chain
It is not uncommon for a single website to have a mix of demand, where some SSPs are a direct/O&O relationship, and others are sourced through a partner such as HTL.
